Remove the initial derma-shield and wash the area with antibacterial liquid soap. Gently wash the area! You don't want to rub hard and create unnecessary irritation. After properly washed gently tap dry with a paper towel and allow your tattoo to air dry for a couple of minutes. Now you put on the new piece of derma shield and leave that one on for 4 days.

Step 2

After your tattoo is complete, your artist will place dermashield on your tattoo.
Leave the initial derma-shield on for 24 hours. Please keep away from the sun and hotter than normal situations. You may ice the area in fact, we recommend you do, this will calm any swelling.

Step 1

What NOT to do with your tattoo!

  • It is important not to submerge your tattoo in any body of body water. You want to keep your tattoo from being too wet overexposure to moisture will open the wound and prolong the healing process. That means no swimming, no bathtubs, no Jacuzzi!

  • Its is just as important to keep your tattoo from drying up. When the skin dries, it cracks and prolongs the healing process, it will also result in more dead skin cells causing your tattoo to lose ink.

  • Keep your tattoo out of the sun this will dull your tattoo and create a yellow layer of skin over your tattoo. While the tattoo is healing keep it out of the sun completely and once healed you should wear sunscreen when exposed to the sun to keep your tattoo looking rich and fresh.

  • Do not pick, scab or scratch your tattoo, your tattoo will itch in the second week of healing just wash it or tap it gently until it goes away.

  • Don't lick it and don't let your friends lick it!
